Flat-screen LCD televisions are designed to accept numerous inputs. Depending on the model of the LCD television, it may accept the older analog RCA video connections, analog component video, analog VGA, digital DVI and digital HDMI. Most LCD TVs accept multiple HDMI connections. Computers typically have analog VGA connectors, and quite often, they have digital DVI connectors. Increasingly, computers are coming equipped with digital HDMI connectors that carry video and sound over a single cable, which is perfect for connecting to an LCD TV.
1). Examine the back of your computer and determine which outputs are available. Choices in order of preference are HDMI, DVI and VGA.
2). Determine which inputs are available on the LCD TV.
